In a world where access to clean air is increasingly critical across industries, O2Bio is emerging as a promising startup at the forefront of portable, high-purity oxygen and nitrogen generation. Founded in 2023 in Gimhae, South Korea, O2Bio was built on a bold vision: to make essential gases more accessible, affordable, and efficient for medical, industrial, and agricultural applications.

At the heart of O2Bio’s innovation is its patented Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) system, enhanced by a unique rotating valve technology. While conventional systems rely on bulky 2-bed solenoid mechanisms that offer limited oxygen concentration and low efficiency, O2Bio’s 6-bed architecture delivers 90–95% oxygen and nitrogen purity—a breakthrough in both performance and size. This proprietary technology has been certified by leading testing institutions (KTL/KTR) and positions O2Bio as a credible alternative to expensive imported gas equipment.

One of O2Bio’s most compelling solutions is its ultra-lightweight portable oxygen generator, weighing as little as 2.5 kg—about half the weight of comparable U.S. or European devices. This makes it ideal for patients suffering from chronic respiratory diseases, as well as first responders and emergency vehicles such as ambulances and helicopters. The same core technology is also applied to industrial oxygen generators for factory environments, as well as agricultural systems used in aquaculture and aquaponics. By replacing traditional liquid gas cylinders and chemical fertilizers, O2Bio offers a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable alternative.

In less than two years, O2Bio has already attracted attention through its government R&D program selections, venture certification, and technology transfer agreements with leading universities like Inje University. The company has also secured early MOUs with potential buyers in the medical and manufacturing sectors, while actively scaling its commercialization strategies through public sector collaborations.

“Our goal isn’t just to sell devices,” says the founder. “We’re here to revolutionize how oxygen and nitrogen are delivered—on-site, on-demand, and on your terms.

With a sharp focus on performance, mobility, and affordability, O2Bio is well-positioned to lead the next wave of growth in the global gas generation market—one breath at a time.
